New World Space Week Website

Today we released an all new website for World Space Week. With this new site we are totally up to date with 2014 website standards again, using a modern WordPress template. This new website was created with the help of a few good friends that volunteered a lot more time than we thought it would take…

We would like to explicitly thank Javoweb for a great new design and AroundTheGlobe for their help connecting the events database and website SEO and analytics. We are certain that this new platform will allow us to serve our network of coordinators, event organizers, partners and sponsors much better than we have ever been. It also allows us to keep the world updated on our continued growth as the largest space event in the world.

This year we are celebrating our 15th anniversary, since being UN-declared in 1999 and our first World Space Week in 2000. Our very first website, which dated from 2001, was built completely by hand in HTML code. Our second website dated from 2007 and used the Joomla content management system. Our third generation website combined the best of these two, built from scratch in the latest version of WordPress.
